The pont Neuf
is, contrary to its name, the oldest bridge of Paris.
With
the point of the île de la cité, le pont Neuf is a royal work,
started in 1578 pennies the reign of Henry III. Inaugurated in 1607 per
Henry IV, the Pont Neuf is the oldest bridge of Paris. It is not covered
any more with houses like the medieval bridges. Length 238 20,5 meters meters
and broad, it rests on 12 arches in masonry, 7 on the large arm of the Seine
