is accessible by the high and low quays, inviting the walker in the heart
of the work.
pont de Solférino, made out of cast iron, had been launched in 1861,
between Tuileries and left bank. Tired like many cast iron works, it is
demolished at the end of the years 1960. In 1997, after an international
contest, the project of the architect Marc Mimram is adopted. The lightness
and the refinement of the lines are the success of the project. The footbridge
is tended on the river in a single arch, of 106 meters range. It is accessible
by the pedestrian since the quays high and low, and proposes a single advance.
